Election Ho Ha

Thank you for putting together this guide for us and our patrons. This will come in very handy in the next few weeks. Before the primaries I had a patron call and want me to give her information on all the candidates, names, party affiliation - the whole works. Now I have a place to direct everyone to without being accused of being not helpful over the phone!

Instead of spending so much time and $$ on campaigning maybe the people running for office should put that towards something more worthwhile such as helping out their neighbors who may have a challenge in their lives or natural disasters etc. Just a thought for the future. Let their actions speak for them instead of TV ads. I so pleased to have a mute button!

E books

So, have you missed me? It's only the end of April and I'm getting January's task finished......
E books. There are so many of them and I'm sure that there are more new models every day. The IPad is out now and from what I've heard it is very cool. I liked the Sony readers that were at CAL in November to look at. They were a nice size and I liked some of the features including being able to change the font style. I can see where this might be an ideal tool for traveling. I'm not a big audio book person but having books downloaded to actually read would be cool.

Using overdrive to download was MUCH easier than when I tried to download to my MP3 player. It worked first time. I checked it out and whola! All done.
